Ultra Trail Cape Town 2021
In November 2021 I followed and photographed my brother as he ran the monumental trail race that is the Ultra Trail Cape Town 100km. As an outsider at the time to the trail running community in Cape Town, I was blown away by the incredibly technical and gruelling route, the grit and determination that it takes to complete this race and the spirit of UTCT. I was brought to tears listening to the bagpipe players on Platteklip gorge as the runners climbed Table Mountain in thick mist. What I witnessed inspired me to start training for my first trail marathon and also developed a hunger to shoot more ultra trail races.
